Designing a kitchen can be a daunting task, especially if you have limited space or budget. But don’t worry, we are here to help, Today we will share three basic kitchen design principles that will help you design the best kitchen for you, based on your needs, preferences, and lifestyle.

Kitchen design principles:

1. Flow

Everyone talks about the triangle BUT more importantly, since not everyone uses the kitchen in the same way, you should spend time thinking how you use your kitchen to make sure you understand your own flow. Think about your bin, your sink, your pans. Imagine yourself coming home from shopping, storing things, prepping, cooking a meal, baking a cake etc... Every kitchen needs to respond to its chook's needs.

2. sitting (down)

If your kitchen is in a space where you have a separate table, think whether incorporating the table to the kitchen layout could result on a better layout. Sometimes keeping rooms separated results in daily discomfort and other times in spaces that are not used to their full potential.

3. joinery

The type of kitchen units you choose, and how you arrange them, will be key to maximise the use of space while keeping a sense of openness. Wall units can be replaced by shelves when we introduce a tall unit, for example.

Of course, these are some of the basic principles for developing a design that works for you. We hope you found them helpful and easy to apply.
