OUR CLIENT
Formerly known as BoulePark, Jack and Boule is a project founded by Alec Feakes, Oliver Rudge and Richard Willing, three fanatics of the game of boule whose aim is to make Urban Boules accessible to everyone.
When a site in Southbank because available to them, they called Atelier EURA to lend them a hand with the designs for what it was originally intended to be a summer pop up.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
"We contacted Atelier Eura having seen some examples of their work on pop-ups at South Bank in London, we loved the design aesthetic and were keen to do something similar.
From the outset Cristina was a joy to work with, coming up with some really clever ideas to save on costs and a design that everyone immediately loved. The layout was carefully arranged to ensure it was functional for trade and the customer experience, not a simple task.
Atelier EURA also provided some 3D visuals which helped to develop the concept and were great for our pre-event marketing and to build the excitement. .
We couldn't have done this very challenging project without Cristina, her recommendations in terms of design but also suppliers allowed us to meet the budget and 2 week build timescales for an 8,000 sq ft site! She was hands on, extremely dedicated and really flexible around our unique project needs. "

THE STRATEGY
From the outset, the client had a clear vision: eight courts, a vibrant bar, and dynamic street food offerings. However, they faced significant challenges in optimizing the space and determining its full capacity.
Our early conversations also revealed a shared commitment to sustainability. We were all determined to minimize waste and ensure that every material used in the build could be given a second life once the venue reached the end of its operational cycle.
Driven by these priorities, we engineered a venue that maximizes functionality while using the least possible amount of material. Every element was thoughtfully selected for its potential to be repurposed, ensuring the project set a new standard for both efficiency and environmental responsibility.

THE PROCESS
This project was the result of a collaboration between Atelier EURA, the client and the marketing team. Because we were situated in different parts of the country and in order to align the design with the many moving parts required by the business strategy, we used a model to facilitate the discussions.

WINTERISATION
When the land owner, Coin Street, saw the build complete, our clients were able to extend their contract beyond the anticipated period and hence in the same spirit of minimising the use of materials, we concluded, a tensile structure would be the best way forward.
With a strategy in place, we prepared the design documentation for the summer and the winter layouts to be summited to planning. The proposals achieved planning and the Jack and Boule will remain on site until 2025.
