This Sunday one of our clients will open her Victorian home to receive visitors as part of Open House.
Set in a beautiful street in an Islington Conservation Area, the house which was built in 1864 has been renovated three times (1984 , 1993 and 2023) and it is a unique example of how to transform a Victorian house to modern living.
The 1984 refurbishment was the most significant one transforming the interiors into a modernist dream that stops you on your feet when the door opens for the first time.
We have been told that it has been featured in many films and adverts due to its unique architectural design and has had Tom Jones sing on the staircase in 1998.
Our involvement was focused on the landscaping and the replacement of several single glazed windows in the rear extension to open up the façade into a beautiful mature garden while providing a much better thermal performace .
